The Permanent Missions of Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, on behalf of the Group of Friends of Women in Afghanistan, with the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security, invite you to a High Level Panel Discussion on International Support for Afghan Women’s Rights.

This side-event aims to highlight Afghan civil society’s critical work to promote and protect women’s rights in and beyond the current peace process, and the international community support to their work. It further aims to empower women’s voices within the peace process and promote efforts to protect their lives from targeted attacks and killings.

UN Member States, including members of the Group of Friends of Women in Afghanistan, and members of Afghan civil society will discuss how the international community can better support the protection and promotion of women’s rights and encourage their safe, equal and meaningful participation throughout the Afghan peace process and beyond.
