Projects

This section highlights peace and development projects with combined gender equality, environmental and peacebuilding goals.

The initiatives featured here include pilot projects in Colombia and Sudan from Joint Programme on Women, Natural Resources, Climate and Peace (2016-2020), a partnership between the UN Environment Programme, UN Women, the UN Development Programme, and UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs. The Joint Programme designed and piloted interventions around natural resources, the environment, and climate change to strengthen women’s participation in three areas:

• Participation in dialogue, mediation, and conflict resolution efforts
• Participation in governance and decision-making at all levels; and
• Contributions to economic recovery and sustainable development.
