Empowerment of Women's Rights in Ecuador and Australia

The Embassy of Ecuador in Australia, the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies (ANCLAS) and the ANU Gender institute present the webinar: "Economic Activation and Empowerment of Women's Rights in Ecuador and Australia."

This webinar will discuss strategies employed by Ecuador and Australia to empower women and facilitate economic activation, particularly within the context of national COVID-19 recovery plans.

It shall discuss initiatives such as Ecuador's "Violet Economy" plan, announced on the 21st of October 2020, with the aim of reducing the labour gaps between men and women that were exacerbated by the pandemic in the economic, political and social sectors.

It will also discuss the project "Super Rural Women", which contributes to the socio-economic productive development of country women in rural farming families in Ecuador through the implementation of sustainable and diversified production systems with a gender perspective.
