➢ Hear from distinguished experts in the field of defence, security and gender how women are shaping security and making a difference.

➢ Participate in discussions around:

  • UN Peacekeeping and the challenges of today
  • Reform of Policing everywhere, taking the example of the UK and progress to date
  • The Conflict in Ukraine and women’s roles in defence and security

➢ Network and connect with like-minded people.

The event will engage with young people and show a series of short videos on topics relevant to women in security/defence. It will also discuss, as a case study by SecurityWomen, the UN Peacekeeping mission in Cyprus (UNFICYP) and will look at progress in the reform of peacekeeping and improving the pipeline of women police and military officers willing to deploy. The war in Ukraine has reminded us all of the fragility of our world and how important it is to work together to minimise conflict and violence.

The Conference will explore what lessons can be learnt and what further action can be taken to ensure gender equality in the world of defence and security.

The event will also be livestreamed, if you wish to join online and learn more about it, register here.
