Claudia Mejía Duque and Katerin Jurado Díaz from Sisma Mujer, and Maria Eugenia Cruz Alarcón from the National Network of Women Human Rights Defenders are leading figures for the protection of women human rights defenders and women’s rights. They will provide an overview of a joint Chrisian Aid Ireland and Sisma Mujer project, which is supported by the European Commission, to support female human rights defenders and their contribution to building a peaceful Colombian society in which human rights are fully respected. They will also outline the current challenges to implementing the Peace Agreement and the attacks women continue to face.
Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch and EPLO will provide tea and coffee.
