This webinar, co-organized by Oxfam and UN Women, will focus on women's land rights as fundamental for achieving gender equality in the in context of Beijing +25 and bring momentum ahead of the Generation Equality Forum in the first half of 2021.

Today, in the 25th year since the adoption of the Beijing Declaration & Platform for Action, we note with concern the slow, uneven global progress to achieving gender equality. Securing women’s land rights is fundamental for achieving gender equality while noting it is intertwined with the success of the other Sustainable Development Goals. As such, achieving equality in land rights between men and women requires strong commitment and action towards addressing the systemic constraints women and girls face in securing the right to own, use and control land. Recognizing that these constraints are exacerbated by the unravelling of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is more urgent than ever that relevant actors integrate crises like it in defining lasting policy and programmatic solutions.
