This webinar, hosted by PRB’s USAID-funded PACE project will focus on the impacts of the global economic crisis caused by the pandemic on vulnerable people, particularly women, who live in remote, biodiverse regions of Africa adjacent to national parks and protected areas and rely on conservation-related tourism revenue. Panelists will bridge the gap between ongoing, parallel discussions about the impact of COVID-19 in the reproductive health/equity sector and the environmental conservation/livelihoods sector. The discussion will elevate innovative ways of thinking about tangible solutions as the reproductive health and conservation communities work to meet the needs of rural people facing new challenges due to the pandemic.
