A Just Recovery for Indigenous Women and Land Defenders

Jun 23, 2020 | International Funders for Indigenous Peoples
Online

Since time immemorial, Indigenous values and leadership have ensured the health and wellbeing of shared lands and communities. Legacies of colonization and capitalism have attempted to undermine the power of Indigenous communities however, Indigenous Women and Land Defenders have remained resilient.

As the world continues to navigate the climate crisis and other threats like COVID19, we have an opportunity to learn from - and support - Indigenous leadership. In this webinar, the International Funders for Indigenous Peoples (IFIP) and Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) will bring together Indigenous land defenders from across so-called Canada to discuss a Just Recovery moving past the pandemic. This webinar will be addressed to funders and philanthropic allies who are interested in building toward a more just future through supporting the crucial work of Indigenous women and land defenders.
