Marco Lambertini and Alice Ruhweza explain how WWF perceives and address gender issues in their mission and work. In societies where livelihoods depend on natural resources women play a central role as stewards and custodians of those resources, but too often have no decision making power. The WWF’s commitment to gender balance in nature conservation activities is to work in collaboration and through consultation to share benefits of conservation activities, improve access to land and natural resources and advance women into resource management and as team members.
