For approximately the past two decades, a large and growing body of both acamedic and grey literature from nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) or international agencies has looked at issues of gender and of natural resources (or, more broadly, the environment) and the role they play in both conflict and peacebuilding. The discussions have, onthe reosurces side, included debates on greed or grievance and on the gender side, a highlighting of the special needs and vulnerabilities of women and girls.
