Women continue to be particularly affected by conflict situations: whether as civilians in directly affected areas, as refugees, or as persons directly targeted. At the same time, women contribute substantially to conflict prevention and resolution: from human rights defenders, and activists to reporters, peacebuilders and more.
Given the growing number of violent conflicts across the world, the protection and empowerment of women in conflict is needed more than ever.
