The Colombian government’s granting of oil titles in Colombia’s Amazon region allegedly increases the threat of extinction of indigenous peoples in the region. According to a study, the government has granted titles for oil exploration and drilling that overlap 81 indigenous reservations in the Amazon region, according to a study.
