Tunisia: Women Peace and Security Programme Assistant

Under the overall supervision of the UN Women Country Representative and direct supervision of the Women Peace and Security Analyst, the WPS Programme Assistant works with and provides support to the members of the Programme Team in the development and implementation of effective programmes consistent with UN Women rules and regulations. The Programme Assistant provides programme, administrative, and logistical assistance to the team for the smooth programme implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Assist in technical support to the formulation and management of WPS programmes
2. Provide technical inputs to the financial management of the WPS Programme Unit
3. Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
4. Provide inputs to advocacy, knowledge building/sharing and communication efforts
5. Provide administrative support to the WPS Programme Unit

Required Skills and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Communication, International Relations or related field.

Experience

  • At least 1 years of relevant work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building is required;
  •  Experience in WPS is required;
  •  Experience in country and/or region is required
  •  Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies, international donors and CSO partners is a strong asset;
  •  Previous UN Women experience is a strong asset.

Language requirements

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory
  • Knowledge of French is an asset
