Job Description
The Male Engagement for GBV Prevention Specialist will be responsible for integrating informed and accountable approaches for GBV prevention into broader GBV prevention and response programming. The Specialist will build capacity of staff, partners, and community focal points to strengthen male engagement in GBV prevention at the community level.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning
• Work closely with GBV Coordinator/GBV Manager/GBV Technical Advisor, as relevant, to achieve program goals
• Coordinate with partner agencies, as relevant, to organize training and support capacity building needs
• Support recruitment of new staff to strengthen organizational capacity for male engagement in GBV prevention
• Ensure adherence to IMC’s GBV Minimum Standards, as well as relevant inter-agency guidelines and standards
• Conduct assessments, as needed, to deepen understanding of social norms, community practices, existing prevention efforts, and relevance of different approaches for the context.
• Coordinate with government focal points, local partners, and women’s networks to develop appropriate GBV prevention strategies and approaches
• Plan and procure supplies required for program activities, in line with budget and project timelines
Capacity Building and Implementation
• Lead direct trainings and ToTs for IMC staff and partners
• Select and mobilize community focal points and volunteers to support male engagement, including facilitation of discussion groups
• Build capacity of relevant community-based actors to lead male engagement activities
• Maintain regular support and coaching for staff, partners, volunteers, focal points
• Develop/adapt discussion guides and other program tools, as needed
• Develop/adapt monitoring tools, as needed
• Organize community events
• Ensure effective community participation throughout implementation, including leadership of women and girls
Monitoring and Reporting
• Seek and analyse community feedback and adapt activities accordingly
• Compile regular reports on cycles of engagement, outlining successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement
• Monitor and document all planned program activities
• Contribute to internal and external reports, on time and with accurate data
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations
Security and Conduct
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies
• Foster a safe and supportive working environment for all GBV staff, volunteers, and partners
• Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality
• Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization, notably through adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with anti-harassment, safeguarding and PSEA policies

Code of Conduct

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Typically, a Bachelor's degree in related area. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Typically, 6+ years of related experience, including implementation of male engagement approaches for prevention of GBV
• Demonstrated application of GBV core competencies and commitment to core principles of GBV programming
• Familiarity with male engagement approaches, including EMAP, SASA! and others
• Relevant regional experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of standards and guidance related to protection from SEA
• Facilitation experience required
• Assessment experience required
• Experience working with local partners and community mobilization
• Profound cross-cultural awareness
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain flexible, and apply experience and guidance to evolving challenges
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
