Women Serve India Foundation (WSIF) is a non-profit organization that seeks to build individual and community economic security and mobility in the rural communities of Western Rajasthan, India. The organization is registered under Section 8 of the (Indian) Companies Act, 2013 with 12A and 80 G registration.
Vision: To advance the status of women and girls through initiatives primarily focused on – water security, economic development, health and hygiene.
Women Serve India Foundation primarily focuses on the following intervention areas:
- WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Initiatives
- Socio-Economic Empowerment (with focus on women and communities)
About the Position:
This position is responsible for overall coordination of the organization’s work at the field level and with other stakeholders – government, civil society organizations, Institutions, etc. The coordinator will plan, implement, and monitor program activities with the support of the field team and in close consultation with the management team. The position will work directly with women and girls in communities, for their socio-economic empowerment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Program Support
- Plan and implement program activities for the socio-economic empowerment of women and girls
- Support field team in the formation and strengthening of community institutions (SHGs, VDCs)
- Plan and organize capacity building and skill trainings for SHG
- Support and facilitate visits and trainings conducted by resource person(s); arrange and manage training logistics
- Conduct regular meetings, field visits and monitoring of ongoing activities
- Support in developing criteria and in identifying suitable beneficiaries for project interventions
- Ensure the quality implementation of the project activities as per the plan with support of program team
- Provide other services as required
Communication and Collaboration
- Support communication and coordination with the WSIF Board
- Build partnerships with government, technical institutions, NGOs working the thematic areas
- Conflict resolution in program operations through constructive and collaborative approaches
- Develop strong leadership in the groups through continuous trainings, exposures, and opportunities
- Facilitate flow of communication, data, and information to management team
- Collaborate closely with Gram Panchayats and all block level departments
- Engage stakeholders for project support and fund mobilization
Reporting
- Prepare monthly plans, activity and progress reports, training program reports
- Conduct regular data collection, compilation for the project activities (SHG MIS, WASH data, etc.)
- Document case studies and collection of quality program pictures
- Prepare English reports for the management team, and Hindi reports for government officials and team as required
Skills and Requirements:
- Candidate must have good understanding social development issues and priorities and integrate it with the program in the context of the organization’s mission and geographic operations
- Experience of working in the field of WASH, and Livelihoods and with SHGs, VDCs
- Oversee the quality of program implementation and adherence to program guidelines
- Candidates with bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work will be preferred
- 8-12 years of experience of managing integrated rural development projects
- Critical thinking, analytical skills, multitasking and working with minimum supervision
- Applicant should have basic knowledge of MS Office applications
- Applicant must have good communication skills (English / Hindi / Local Language)
- Good understanding of local community, sensitivity to local issues, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to adapt and act in emerging situations and proven track record of achieving results
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites in remote locations
Remuneration: Will be commensurate with work experience, expertise, and qualification
