The Environmental Peacebuilding Association is seeking pro bono Environmental Peacebuilding Researchers to assist with a variety of activities and projects, most notably research on the inclusion of gender, indigenous peoples, youth, and people with disabilities in conservation programming. In addition, we need support for core support to Association events and activities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Perform legal research, analysis, writing, and editing on a wide variety of ongoing and time-limited research projects
- Collect and post materials for the Knowledge Platform and biweekly Environmental Peacebuilding Update
- Assist with various event or network coordination tasks relating to the Environmental Peacebuilding Association
- Support events bringing together practitioners, researchers, and decisionmakers to share knowledge about topics related to environmental peacebuilding
WHEN:
We're looking for people to start immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Specific environmental experience is not mandatory. The position is fully off-site, and work can be conducted remotely. We welcome researchers from a variety of backgrounds, including current or recent undergraduate students, law students, law degree holders, graduate degree holders, and professionals.
Candidates should:
- Possess superior research, writing, and interpersonal communication skills
- Have a strong desire to gain knowledge of the environmental field, as well as interest in natural resource management and/or peacebuilding
- Be focused, independent, reliable, and meticulous
- Be available to work at least 15 hours per week for at least 3 months
While the following skills are not required, we are especially interested in candidates who are:
- Fluent in UN languages (including French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, or Arabic)
- Proficient with GIS (for example, ArcGIS Online)
- Experienced with graphic design
- Interested in supporting organizational management and event coordination
